Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoonsshortening
  • 4 tablespoonssugar
  • 3 teaspoonsbaking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoonssalt
  • 1/2 cupmilk
  • 1 teaspoonsvanilla
  • 1 cupsweetened apricots,peaches or applesauce
  • 1egg
  • Topping
  • 1 tablespoonsbutter melted over water
  • 1/4 cupflour
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 2 tablespoonscinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoonsvanilla

Steps

  1. 1

    Cream together shortening and sugar

  2. 2

    Add the egg and beat well

  3. 3

    Sift dry ingredients together

  4. 4

    Add alternately with milk

  5. 5

    Add the vanilla

  6. 6

    Place in greased pan

  7. 7

    Add 1/4 teaspoons lemon extract to fruit

  8. 8

    Pour over top of batter.

  9. 9

    Blend all topping ingredients sprinkle over top

  10. 10

    Bake at 375 for 30 minutes
