Ingredients

Makes 2 rice balls
  1. 2 bowlscooked rice (about 2 cups, 320 grams)
  2. 1 tablespoonshredded dried squid (saki ika)
  3. 1 tablespoonchopped green onion
  4. 1 tablespoonsalted kelp (shio kombu)
  5. 1 teaspoonwhite dashi
  6. 1 teaspoontoasted sesame oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare warm cooked rice.

    Cut the shredded dried squid into 1/4-inch (5mm) pieces using kitchen scissors. For convenience, you can use pre-cut shredded squid (as shown in the photo).

    Slice the green onion thinly.

    Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

    Shape the mixture into onigiri (rice balls). Enjoy!
