Omena stew originally came from the lake side region. it contains a lot of proteins and therefore greatly nutritious. It is served with ugali.

Steps

Remove the dirt from omena, wash in warm water and boil for 30 minutes

Chop onion and put in a cooking pan and then add cooking oil and fry until golden brown
- 3
Add garlic and fry slightly then add tomatoes followed by dhania
- 4
Drain all water from boiled omena and add to the frying tomatoes. Add green chilli and allow to cook for 2 minutes
- 5
Add milk and boil for 5 minutes and then serve with hot Ugali
