2 people, 2 bell stuffed peppers
  1. 1/2 cupred lentils
  2. 1/4 cupbasmati rice
  3. 1/2 cupground kobe beef
  4. 1/2 cupchopped bell pepper
  5. 1/2 cupchopped white onion
  6. 2garlic cloves
  7. 1/2 Tspcumin
  8. 1/2 Tspsweet paprika
  9. 1/4 Tspred aleppo pepper
  10. 1/4 Tspflaked seasalt
  11. 2 1/2 cupswater
  12. 1beef bouilion cube
  13. 1/2 cuppan drippings
  14. 2whole red bell peppers
  15. Skillet, dutch oven, glass baking cup
  16. Cost: beef $2, lentils, rice 50 cents, onion, garlic, pepper, other $1.50, $4 per dinner

1 1/2 hour
  1. 1

    Crumble ground beef, sprinkle with spices, sautee 9 minutes. Set aside.

    Sautee bell pepper, onion and garlic 7 minutes in beef drippings, mix with browned beef

    Rinse red lentils, put in dutch oven with rice, water, bouillion cube, bring to boil 7 minutes, boil 8 minutes, lid on, rest 30 minutes. Mix lentils, rice and beef mix. No need to soak red lentils first.

    Stuff bell pepper with lentil -rice-sweet pepper- beef mix, cap, bake 45 minutes at 350F degrees.

I got certified by the University of California Master Gardener Program in 2005. I try to bring out the original flavor of ingredients, then add layers of spices, herbs and flavorings that enhance, not distort the taste.
