Steps

Wash the chicken then marinate the chicken. For marination add curd, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and 1 tbsp mustard oil. Keep the marinated chicken aside for 15-20 minutes.

Heat a pan pour oil and add cardamom, cinnamon, cumin seeds and bay leaves, stir for 2 seconds. Now add chopped onion and fry them until golden brown.

Now add onion paste, ginger, garlic paste, tomato paste and chopped green chillies. Fry them properly then add spices. Cook properly.

Now add the marinated chicken, mix well and continuously stir for about 6-10 minutes. Then add water and cover the pan for 10-15 minutes on low to medium heat. When the chicken becomes soft off the flame. Now sprinkle kasuri methi. Cover and rest for 5 minutes then serve with bengali basanti pulao or rice or roti.
