Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk and let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.

Mix flour and salt in a bowl; add egg, melted butter, and yeast mixture to form a soft dough.

Knead for 8–10 minutes, cover, and let rise 20–30 minutes until doubled in size.

Roll dough into small balls (about 3–4 cm diameter).

Heat oil in a deep pan and fry dough balls until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels.
Tips
Maintain medium heat when frying so the baursaki cook evenly inside without burning on the outside.
