MawMaw's Christmas Cheese Ball

Every Christmas since I was a child, my MawMaw (grandmother) has made this simple, yet powerfully flavorful MawMaw's Christmas Cheese Ball. This year, I decided to take a crack at it. Smooth and creamy with bursts of flavors from scallions and dried beef are a beautiful blend.
MawMaw's Christmas Cheese Ball
Every Christmas since I was a child, my MawMaw (grandmother) has made this simple, yet powerfully flavorful MawMaw's Christmas Cheese Ball. This year, I decided to take a crack at it. Smooth and creamy with bursts of flavors from scallions and dried beef are a beautiful blend.

Set out cream cheese to reach room temperature. Slice and dice half a bundle of scallions into small pieces, set aside. Shred up the dried beef, set aside.

In a mixing bowl, place in the cream cheese and thoroughly massage with hands until both ounces are blended into one smooth, consistent texture. Ensure there are no lumps.

Punch the cream cheese flat in the bowl, creating a smaller bowl shape. Add the finely diced scallions and shredded dry beef into the well, folding into the cream cheese by hand.

Once there are bits of scallions and beef throughout the cream cheese, roll into one big ball by hand and set on a serving tray.

Serve with Ritz crackers or an equivalent. I, personally, prefer Food Lion's comparison brand, as they are more buttery and have less salt, holding up better to the natural salt contents of the cheese ball.
