Burgers 🍔 with Homemade Buns and French Fries 🍟

For the buns: Add the flour to a large bowl. Make a well in the center and add the yeast, water, and sugar. Sprinkle the salt around the edges. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Next, add the butter and egg, and knead well. Shape into 6 rolls, each about 4.2–4.6 oz (120–130 grams), and place them on a baking sheet lined with plastic wrap. Let them rise until doubled in size; I let mine rise for 3 hours.

For brushing/sprinkling: Beat the egg yolk with the milk and brush over the rolls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 25 minutes.

For the burgers: Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator to develop more flavor. I left mine for 3 hours.

Shape into 5 patties, each about 3.9 oz (110 grams). I only had enough meat for 5 burgers.

Cook in an air fryer at 350°F (180°C) for 17 minutes.

For the fries: Cut the sweet potatoes into your desired shape and coat with flour. Fry in sunflower oil. Sprinkle generously with French fry seasoning.

For the sauce: I always make it by eye. Use more mayonnaise, about half as much ketchup, and just a little mustard. Finely chop a few pickles and mix them in.

For the caramelized onions: Sauté the onions in butter. Lower the heat to prevent burning, add balsamic glaze for color, and season with salt. Cook until soft.

For serving: Prepare the fried eggs and tomato slices, and assemble the burgers with everything you've prepared and slices of sandwich cheese.
