I've made this recipe with my mum and it tastes wonderful . My mum loves to have it with Apricot jam but we ran out , so we tried it with Raspberry Jam instead and it was lovely .
Steps
- 1
Flour your working surface and roll out your pastry till about 1/4 inch thick. Using cookie cutter, cut out whatever shape you want.
- 2
Then cutter two shapes, use a smaller cutter and make a hole on the second pieces for your top layer.
- 3
Then stick the piece that has the hole on the top of the other piece with water. And fill with jam using a small measuring spoon.
- 4
Then after you fill your pastries with jam brush the top with egg wash, egg mixed with 1 tsp water.
- 5
Bake in 190° over till the top is golden brown and pastries puff up. Remove from baking tray and once cooled, dust with icing sugar.
