I fell in love with a similar dish at a neighborhood café and knew I had to recreate it at home with my own personal twist.

Pat the tilapia dry.
Mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Rub the mixture over both fillets.
Let marinate for 10–15 minutes.
Grill on a grill pan, barbecue, or air fryer:
Grill pan: 3–4 minutes per side over medium-high heat.
Air fryer: 190°C for 8–10 minutes.
Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork. - 2
Mushroom sauce: Melt butter in a pan and sauté mushrooms until lightly browned.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Sprinkle in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add the milk, whisking to avoid lumps.
Add the cheese slice and stir until melted.
Season with herbs, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens. - 3
Prepare the Fries
Toss the potato fries with olive oil, paprika, and garlic powder.
Air fry at 200°C for 18–22 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
Season with salt after cooking. - 4
Sauté the Vegetables
Parboil carrots and French beans in hot water for 5 minutes. Heat olive oil in a pan and add all the vegetables and grill it till turns brown
Season with salt, pepper
Tips
Place the grilled tilapia on a plate and spoon the mushroom cheese sauce over the top. Serve with crispy air-fried fries and sautéed vegetables on the side.
