Fereni is a smooth dessert with soft and silky texture. It is made with rice flour ( not rice grains), sugar, rose water, milk and saffron. This is one of desserts in Ramadan.

Fereni is a smooth dessert with soft and silky texture. It is made with rice flour ( not rice grains), sugar, rose water, milk and saffron. This is one of desserts in Ramadan.

Add rice to the flour and stirring constantly to avoid of forming lumps.

Bring the milk to a boil. Add saffron threads and keep stirring. Cook until mixture thickened.

Then add rose water and sugar to taste. Allow the mixture to boil for 2 more minutes on medium heat and yet keep stirring. It is done.

Fereni might be served either warm or cold. Garnish with pinch of cinnamon powder, almond flakes and crushed pistachio.
