Steps
- 1
Into a big bowl, put all the dry ingredients- 1/2 tbsp of salt, flour, baking powder, and cinnamon
- 2
Mix them and add oil - 4 tbsp. Then start to add warm water while kneading with your hands preferably your thumbs.
- 3
Knead until soft, though not too soft and not too hard, this is so as to get nice soft chapos
- 4
Leave it to raise for 20 minutes. Then in a flat surface, put a little flour and spread it all through the rolling surface
- 5
Take the whole dough and roll it on a flat surface, it should be not so thick, around 0.4 cm to 0.5 cm.
- 6
Then apply on top oil and spread it evenly.
- 7
Fold it away from you to form a rope like dough
- 8
Cut into pieces that are a bit tiny, this depends on the number of chapos you want
- 9
Then fold them into ball like dough and take one dough and start to roll. If it stick on the surface put flour.
- 10
Roll until 0.3 cm thick or less. Heat the flat surfaced pan.
- 11
Put the chapati on the pan and apply oil on top.
- 12
Then turn and start frying. Cook both sides until golden brown. Repeat this process for the remaining balls
- 13
Serve after a few minutes with any form of soup.
