Ingredients

  1. 1.5-2.5 lbchuck roast
  2. 4large carrots (approx. 2-3in long pieces)
  3. 1large onion (quartered, sliced)
  4. 4large potatoes (quartered)
  5. 2 stalkscelery (approx. 2in pieces)
  6. 2-3 clovesgarlic (minced)
  7. 1/2-1 cuptomato sauce
  8. 1-2beef bouillon
  9. 2 tbsonion powder
  10. 1-2Bay leaves
  11. 1/2 cupwater
  12. salt&pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Add roast, cover with veggies. Add spices. Dilute bouillon in water. Cover top with liquids. (I'd suggest cutting the veggies very large. Or adding smaller cut pieces after 2-3 hours.)

    High: 8-10 hours. Low: 12-14 hours.

Living up in the mountains, not always having the gas, time, or best weather conditions to get to town for groceries. We run out of things quickly and I have to use what I have. Though I now have a stove and oven, many of my recipes here were from when I didnt. I've had to get quite creative, and find other ways to cook. Like in a toaster oven and an electric skillet. I thought if anyone else has my same issues it'd be great to share my simple minimalist recipes. And find some great ones too.
