One of our families favorites as I was growing up. Here in Florida we have an abundant supply of these and many other field peas! I'm sharing these with everyone! We usually cook a bunch and freeze what are don't eat.

One of our families favorites as I was growing up. Here in Florida we have an abundant supply of these and many other field peas! I'm sharing these with everyone! We usually cook a bunch and freeze what are don't eat.

Wash the peas

Add to a big stock pot
- 3
Cover with water. You will need more as it cooks.

Slice the bacon up.
- 5
Bring to a boil cover and simmer for about an hour and a half. Add water as needed check every 30 minutes.

After an hour add salt and mix well.

Serve what you don't eat freeze in serving sized bags or containers for the freezer.
