Every Sunday lunch time back in high school we used to have rice and beans which we called R n B,it was my favourite meal minus the soup of course and the termites 😂.When cooking, I choose to mix rice and the beans together.
I made it for Sunday's lunch as a throw back. It's a simple meal to make.

Ingredients

3 servings
  • 2and half cups rice
  • 1and a half cup of pre-booked beans
  • 2onions
  • 4tomatoes
  • I green peppee
  • 1beef chilli cube
  • 1 teaspoontumeric
  • 1 teaspooncurry powder
  • 1/4cabbage
  • 3carrots
  • mayonnaise

Steps

  1. 1

    Saute onions and once browned add chilli cube, turmeric and curry powder

  2. 2

    Add chopped tomatoes and capsicum until cooked

  3. 3

    Add the precooked beans and cook for 3 mins

  4. 4

    Add the washed rice stir until evenly mixed

  5. 5

    Add twice amount of water as the rice and bring to a boil for about 10 mins a

  6. 6

    Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 mins until cooked

  7. 7

    Shred cabbage and grate carrots.Mix them and add mayonnaise. Chill in the fridge for 15 mins

  8. 8

    Serve rice beans and the coleslaw
