Spicy rusks

Rusks, or paximadia as are known in Greece, are either hard, dry cookies or twice-baked bread slices and are incorporated in many dishes in Greek cuisine. This is a recipe for very tasty rusks that can accompany your salads, dips, ouzo or beer, various dishes or you can have them on their own as snacks.

Steps

Cut the bread into slices and then each slice into 4-5 strips, depending on the size. Spread them out in a baking tray.

Pour a little olive oil on each piece of bread.

Sprinkle with oregano, salt and red pepper.

Mix with your hands so that the oil, the oregano, the salt and pepper are evenly distributed over everything.

Bake at 120°C for more than an hour, if you can, let them bake for two hours.

The more you let them bake, the crunchier they will be.
