Steps

Wash and drain the channa dal and grind it in rough paste

Take warm water and add in rice flour and make a smooth dough

Keep it for rest for half an hour

In the channa dal paste add chopped onions garlic green chilli coriander leaves cumin powder salt red chilli powder and asafoetida
- 5
Make small balls of the rice dough and roll it in small puri and stuff in with the channa dal mixture

Make all the phara in same way

Take a steamer and grease the steam plate and arrange the prepared phara in it and let it steam for 20- 25 minutes

Check it out with a knife inserting in it if comes out clean means the phara are cooked

Take them out and cut them in two or three pieces

Heat oil in pan add the tempering and when it starts cracking add the sliced onions and when it turns brown add phara

Fry it on high flame for few minutes and then take it out on serving plate

Garnish it with chopped coriander and serve it hot with green chutney
