Blend the onion in a blender, then squeeze out the juice and set the onion juice aside.

Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Lightly grease a baking sheet with oil. Using a wooden spoon handle, shape the kofta mixture around it. Wet your hands with the reserved onion juice and shape the kofta, then arrange them on the baking sheet.

Place the shaped kofta on the greased baking sheet, cover with foil, and bake in the oven until cooked through and browned. Heat the charcoal until red hot, place it in the baking sheet with a little oil, cover immediately for 2 minutes to infuse a smoky flavor, then serve.

Add the lamb fat if your ground beef is lean. If your beef already has enough fat, you don't need to add extra fat—this helps keep the kofta juicy while grilling.
