Steps
- 1
Preboil the green grams until well done. This takes about 30 minutes or 15 minutes with pre soaked grains. You can boil a huge batch and freeze using as needed. For this meal you will need 2.5 cups of boiled ndengu to serve 3.
- 2
Sautee the garlic and onions in vegetable oil. Add some vinegar to get more garlic flavour.
- 3
Add the mince meat and cook for 5 minutes turning frequently. Add the basil paste or leaves and let cook some more.
- 4
Add the tomatoes and salt and cook for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of water. Add more vinegar and stir in some honey. Taste to confirm a sweet sour tang. Add to desired taste.
- 5
Add the ndengu and mix in. Let simmer under low heat for 5minutes
- 6
Serve hot garnishing with some coriander or cheese. Enjoy with rice or paste or chapati. As usual grab a guacamole whenever possible
