Healthy way to eat vegetables in the form of palya is one of the popular idea. It's easy to cook, tasty and good for health.
Steps

Cut bottle gourd vertically into half, peal the skin and chop into thin pieces.

Heat a pan,add oil. When oil starts heat add red chilly and mustard seeds. Let the mustard seeds splutter.

Now add split black gram lentils, let it turn little brown then add curry leaves.

Now add chopped bottle gourd pieces, stir well for a while.

Add salt.

Add turmeric powder.

Add 25 ml of water, again stir well.

Cook it covered till the veggies are soft. Keep stirring in between. For this I took only 4 minutes in medium flame.

When the water is evaporated completely add grated coconut and mix well.

Serve along rice or chapathi.
