BBQ Rub

My wife has an intolerance to pepper so I had to find something that would work for bbq without tearing her system up like the traditional Texas bbq. If you can't handle even a little heat take out the pepper, the five spice will still add a dimension of heat without the burn!

My wife has an intolerance to pepper so I had to find something that would work for bbq without tearing her system up like the traditional Texas bbq. If you can't handle even a little heat take out the pepper, the five spice will still add a dimension of heat without the burn!
Steps
- 1
Mix all ingredients by hand to remove clumps of brown sugar. This is an all purpose rub that will work for anything! The secret is the Chinese five spice it gives a subtle hint of cloves and heat.
- 2
Lightly dust over ribs for smoking. For the best results dust ribs and let sit in fridge for 2 hours
- 3
This rub will work for anything. Chicken, pork, and beef. Haven't tried it yet for lamb so if you do please let me know :) if using for lamb add about 1 tablespoon of rosemary or mint to the rub. Just make sure it is dried so the sugar doesn't stick together.
