Ingredients

  1. 1 packages(8 ounces ) cream cheese
  2. 1garlic clove, minced
  3. 1green onion, including some of the green tops, coarsely chopped
  4. 1/8to 1/4 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/4 cupfinely chopped pecans
  6. 1/4 cupchutney
  7. 1crackers for serving (I use whatever kind I have on hand, but I really like water crackers for this.)

Steps

  1. 1

    Put all ingredients, except pecans and crackers, in a food processor or blender.

  2. 2

    Process until well blended.

  3. 3

    Scrape down the sides of the food processor or blender.

  4. 4

    Transfer to a piece of plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours.

  5. 5

    Form mixture into a ball.

  6. 6

    Put nuts on a piece of waxed paper and roll the cheese ball in the nuts.

  7. 7

    Place on a plate and arrange crackers around the cheese ball.

  8. 8

    *You can also use a fruit such as apple slices in addition to or in place of crackers.*

  9. 9

    **This recipe makes one 3 inch cheese ball.**

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
