I tried this as an experiment and loved it. I did make mine a bit to spicy so I added more rice and a bit of butter to help.

Ingredients

  • 1frozen or fresh steamed shrimp. peeled and deviened
  • 1tomato soup
  • 1canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1white or wheat rice
  • 1frozen peas and carrots
  • 1pepper
  • 1red pepper flakes
  • 1a slight amount of hot sauce ( a few dashes)
  • 1old bay
  • 1garlic
  • 1onion finely diced

Steps

    if you buy frozen shrimp cook and peel as the package says. if you get fresh steamed pull off tails and peel the shell off

  2. 2

    if using onion peel rinse and dice very fine

  3. 3

    get a saucepan. pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato soup, and some of the seasonings. simmer until the tomatoes are cooked down. keep an eye on the tomatoes if you want you can make them smaller. stir every so often so it doesn't stick to the pot. pull out any skin from the tomatoes

  4. 4

    add in shrimp. add spices and onion. simmer for about 25 minutes

  5. 5

    add in the veggies. cook until they soften up and taste. if it isn't spicy enough add more spice

  6. 6

    let this set simmer for another 20 minutes or so

  7. 7

    when the sauce is to your liking start you rice. keep the sauce on warm/low heat

  8. 8

    put rice on a plate after draining it. turn heat off from sauce. using a big spoon pour sauce over top of the rice and serve. enjoy!

I was a stay home mother for years, and loved it. I'm always interested in trying new things and try to get my kids to try things at least once. I don't measure a lot of things. I go by taste and need to work on that .... I use a lot of different recipes, enjoy looking at ones online and trying them . I tend to change things to so you never know. I haven't been able to cook much for a bit , but I'm hoping to change that soon.
