The Best Meatballs & Sauce

SammyJones
SammyJones @cook_2965194

Our family was very large, we had to bulk out a lot of our meals with cheaper meat to feed everyone at an affordable price. Mum would use half beef mince half sausage meat to make meatballs, and they were always so good. When I moved out on my own, money was also tight, i ended up cutting out the beef mince and using only sausage meat, since it was so cheap. Now I have created a delicious recipe for meatballs & Sauce to make a yummy and cheap dinner for my on family.

Steps

  1. 1

Mix all ingredients in the meatball section together in a bowl until well combined.

  2. 2

Break off a chunk of the mixture with your fingers and roll into a ball that's about an inch in size. Put into a lightly oiled pan on a high heat.

  3. 3

Brown the meatballs until they go a little crispy and you can no longer see any pink sausage meat.

  4. 4

Pour in the boiled water, the can of tomatoes and add the flavour cube. Bring back to the boil and leave boiling for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

Once a lot of the excess water has reduced, turn the stove element down to low/medium and put a lid on the pan to simmer for 10 minutes.

  6. 6

While the sauce is simmering you can start boiling your pasta.

  7. 7

Then take your lid off the sauce and leave on the element for another 5 minutes. You can now stir in your cooking cream. Once this has combined with the sauce you can serve your meatballs and sauce very your pasta. Top with grated cheese and Enjoy!
