I love applesauce... especially homemade applesauce. this recipe is so simple and quick. . and totally delicious! I know you will love it. (L)
Steps
- 1
in a small heavy sauce pan... combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.
- 2
lower heat to a simmer, give everything a good stir, then put the lid on and let cook for about 20 minutes (shorter time if you don't want your apples cooked a whole lot... longer time if you want them a little "mushy". I like mine right about in the middle. *grins*).
- 3
when your apples get to the texture you like... your applesauce is done. remove from heat and allow to cool before storing it in the refrigerator.
- 4
enjoy this by itself or as a topping. I like to put some in my oatmeal or over my whole wheat pancakes. it's even amazing warmed up just a bit and put on top of vanilla ice cream.... like a yummy apple pie without the crust. mmmmm.
