Ingredients

  • 2 packagessausage links (12ounces each)
  • 1refrigerated shredded hash browns (20 ounces)
  • 1 cupchopped green onions
  • 1sweet red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 candiced mild green chilies (4 ounce)
  • 1 1/2 cupshredded cheddar cheese
  • 12eggs
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1/4 tspsalt
  • 1/8 tsppepper

Steps

    Cook sausage according to package; cut into 1/4 inch slices, set aside

  2. 2

    In a bowl combine green onions, red pepper, chilies; set aside.

  3. 3

    Spray the interior of a 5-6 quart slow cooker with veg. cooking spray. Layer one third of hash browns, green onion mixture and sausage and cheese into crock. Repeat layers twice.

  4. 4

    In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper, pour over layered ingredents.

  5. 5

    Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until themometer inserted in center reads 160°F. Serve.

  6. 6

    Cooking this over night makes a great ready meal in the morning. Also makes great breakfast burritos. You can add any meats you wish.

At what point do you add the sausage? Sausage is never mentioned after "brown and set aside".
