Ingredients

  1. 1olive oil
  2. 4 clovegarlic, diced finely
  3. 1/2onion, chopped finely
  4. 1 cantomato sauce (398 ml)
  5. 1 candiced tomatoes (398 ml)
  6. 1salt and pepper to taste
  7. 2 tbspdry basil
  8. 1/4 cupheavy cream
  9. 1/2 cupgrated parmesan cheese
  10. 2 tbspdry parsley
  11. 1 pinchsugar

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat heavy saucepan with olive oil (approximately 1/4 cup) over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add garlic and onions, saute until tender (about 2-3 minutes).

  3. 3

    Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, parsley, salt & pepper. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for at least 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Stir in cheese and then cream and sugar. Simmer on low heat until cream is incorporated and sauce thickens to desired consistency.

  5. 5

    Serve with shell pasta and garnish with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
