Soak chana daal and rice in water overnight.

Drain water and grind them with Curd and water. Batter should be coarse like idly batter.

Pour in to the vessel and put it to ferment in warm place.

Once batter fermented add salt, ginger garlic green chili paste to it. Mix well. Batter consistency should be like idli batter.

Heat the steamer with 3 glass of water in the bottom. Grease the dhokla plates with oil.

Add baking soda to the batter with some hot water. Mix for 1 minute. Bubbles will appear on top of the batter.

Immediately pour the batter to the dhokla plates. Sprinkle some redchilly powder on it.

Steam the dhoklas in medium heat for 10-12 min.

Check with toothpick. If it comes out clear. Dhokla is done.

Serve Dhoklas with groundnut oil and garlic chutney.
