Ingredients

  1. 3 cupSela rice (Idli rice)
  2. 1 cupUrad dhuli dal
  3. Salt as per taste

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak dal and rice seperately for 3-4 hours

  2. 2

    Grind them in a blender,, seperately

  3. 3

    Keep seperately in a Big vessel for fermentation.. Either overnight or for 7-8 hours,,in the morning mix this mixture together..put salt to it"

  4. 4

    Once fermented

  5. 5

    Take an IDLI STAND..grease it with little oil.

  6. 6

    Take a pressure cooker remove it's whistle

  7. 7

    Pour some water in the cooker for boiling

  8. 8

    Now place the Idli stand filled with Idli batter

  9. 9

    Close the lid,,let it boil(steam) on the gas for 10 minutes

  10. 10

    Check with the toothpick,, if it comes out clean,, then idlies r ready

  11. 11

    Now allow them to cool,, after taking out from the stand (Idli moulds),, Your idlies r ready

  12. 12

    Enjoy the IDLIES with coconut chutney...podi...or peanut tomato chutney
