preheat oven to 350°F

grease and flour a 9 by 13 cake pan

place first 3 ingredients in a large pot and bring to a full boil

remove from heat and add the next 4 ingredients

stir until mixed well

stir in buttermilk and eggs

pour into greased and floured cake pan

bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes
