Ingredients

  1. 1 cupdried chickpeas (about 200 grams)
  2. 1/2 cupdried fava beans (about 100 grams)
  3. 1small onion
  4. 2 clovesgarlic
  5. 1 teaspoonbaking soda
  6. Salt
  7. 1 tablespoonfalafel spice mix
  8. 1small bunch fresh cilantro
  9. A fewsprigs fresh parsley
  10. Pinchdried coriander
  11. Pinchpaprika
  12. Pinchcumin
  13. 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder (add to the mixture just before frying)

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the fava beans and chickpeas overnight with the baking soda.

    Drain the fava beans and chickpeas, then grind them in a meat grinder with the parsley, cilantro, onion, and garlic. Add the spices and salt, and mix well. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water.

  3. 3

    Add the baking powder, shape the mixture into balls or patties, and fry them in hot, deep oil. Place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve with fresh vegetables and tahini sauce. Enjoy!
