Ingredients

54 servings
  • 1 1/4 cupbutter
  • 3/4 cupfirmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cupgranulated sugar
  • 1egg
  • 1 tspvanilla
  • 1 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
  • 1 tspbaking soda
  • 1 tspsalt (optional)
  • 1 tspcinnamon (optional)
  • 3 cupquick or old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cupraisins

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat oven to 375°F

  2. 2

    Beat butter and sugars until fluffy

  3. 3

    Beat in egg and vanilla

  4. 4

    Add combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well

  5. 5

    Stir in oats; stir in raisins.

  6. 6

    Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. 7

    Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy cookies, 10-11 minutes for crisp cookies

    Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack

  9. 9

    Store tightly covered

  10. 10

    Yield 4 1/2 dozen
