Preparation: In a large bowl combine well the sausage and venison, divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, and flatten each portion into a thin patty. Enclose each soft-boiled egg completely in 1 of the sausage/venison patties, patting the into place. Dredge in the flour, shaking off the excess, dip them in the raw eggs, letting the excess drip off, and roll them gently in the panko crumbs, coating them well. In a deep fryer heat 2 1/2 inches of the oil to 350°F. and in it fry the Scotch eggs, 2 at a time, turning them and transferring them to paper towels to drain with a slotted spoon as they are done, for 10 minutes.

Scotch Eggs Scotch Eggs
I have head of these fabled delicacies but never attempted to make one until recently. It’s pretty straight forward. Soft boiled eggs, wrapped with sausage, breaded and fried. I used “Hot” 🙄 Italian sausage, because that’s what I had on hand. But, I personally think it would go better with the sweet Italian sausage with provolone and fennel in it. Karl -
Scotch Eggs Scotch Eggs
A scotch egg is a British pub snack consisting of a boiled egg encased in ground meat (typically pork sausage), coated with bread crumbs, and fried until the exterior is crispy and the meat is cooked through. Some scotch eggs have runny yolks, while others are hard-boiled. Scotch eggs can be served straight out of the fryer, or at room temperature.Traditionally, scotch eggs are deep-fried to get that extra-crispy crust, but for an easier alternative, consider baking them in the oven. You can also try a combination of both: First, quickly deep-fry the eggs, then finish cooking in the oven. This recipe uses the baked-in-the-oven method.Recipe adapted from Masterclass.com#nikicuisine #mycookbook Niki Freeman -
