Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 4 lbPrime Rib - bone in ask butcher to separate bone from the meat
  2. 2 cloveGarlic sliced into medium pieces
  3. 1/4 cupFlour to lightly cover the roast
  4. 1Salt, pepper and garlic powder
  5. 1 pinchSprig fresh of rosemary (if desired)

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 450°F

  2. 2

    Cut slits in the roast. Insert garlic pieces into the slits salt and pepper the outside of the roast and sprinkle with garlic powder if desired

  3. 3

    Gently flour the outside of the roast to cover

  4. 4

    After 20 minutes on high heat, baste the roast and reduce the heat to 350°

  5. 5

    Then set the timer for 15 minutes and baste the roast every 15 minutes there after until done

  6. 6

    Sprinkle the Rosemary over the top of the roast or place the sprig just in the roasting pan put in 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in the roasting pan add the roast put it in the oven at 450 for 20 minutes

  7. 7

    The roast will be done in approximately 1 1/2 hours or until it reaches any inside temperature of the 130° for rare.

  8. 8

    Remove from oven and let it rest for approximately 20 minutes before serving

  9. 9

    Slice and enjoy
