Beef Pilau

A friend of mine from Mombasa once taught me how to cook Pilau. I decided to make it today for my family. It was kind of a surprise recipe for my family. So delicious #coastaldish

Steps
- 1
Prepare the ingredients together to avoid wasting time
- 2
Fry onion till golden brown
- 3
Add garlic and ginger and fry. But don't let it burn.
- 4
Add the whole Pilau masala and cook till the aroma fills the house.
- 5
Add your pre-boiled beef and fry till golden brown
- 6
Add your potatoes and cook for ten minutes but do not cook fully
- 7
Add rice and salt and mix well. Then add boiling water and let it cook till the water has reduced.
- 8
Reduce heat then turn the Pilau and cover tightly. Let it cook perfectly
- 9
Serve with Kachumbari
- 10
Tip: if you want a more colored Pilau or a browner Pilau use double the quantity of whole Pilau masala.
