Homemade White Bread
A basic recipe for a soft and delicious loaf of bread. Yield: 1 loaf
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°
- 2
Measure hot tap water into small pot
- 3
Place butter into water and whisk till melted
- 4
Water mix temp should be between 120°- 130° but no higher than 130° or it will ruin the yeast
- 5
In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients together and set aside
- 6
Place water mixture into a small mixer (with a dough hook attachment) and add dry ingredients
- 7
Mix dough on medium speed for 5 minutes
- 8
While dough is mixing, grease or spray loaf pan and set aside
- 9
After 5 minites, turn dough over onto a lightly floured surface and shape into an oblong ball
- 10
Place dough into prepared loaf pan, cover with a small hand towel and set pan onto a warm surface to rise
- 11
? IMPORTANT ?Do not disturb pan while dough is rising or the loaf will sink and will not turn out properly!!!
- 12
Allow dough to rise until it is about 1"-2" above the lip of the pan (approx 1 1/2 - 2 hours)
- 13
Gently place loaf into preheated oven and bake 90-120 minutes or until loaf sounds "hollow" when tapped on
- 14
* Optional * I spread butter over the loaf with a paper towel while the loaf is still warm to give the bread an extra buttery taste when sliced

Since bread starters needs to be used up within 1 - 2 weeks, I thought it best to make bread directly from liquid yeast, which lasts for a while.Unlike dry yeast, the time needed for rising varies greatly depending on the strength of the starter.I recommend yogurt or strawberry yeast, which are both strong. I "developed" this recipe by first learning how to bake using a food processor and then graduating to a stand mixer. I had no idea what the dough was supposed to look like, feel like, how long to knead, or anything. Through random YouTube videos and many failed attempts I finally made something I am proud of. Here it is! Jacob Allord -

I received a request to bake bread rolls. This recipe has less sugar and oil but still a rich taste. As you don't have to knead, it should only take about an hour to make. Please cover the dough with plastic wrap so that it does not dry out.I recommend storing leftover yeast in the freezer. Recipe by mini cookpad.japan -

I am a failure sometimes at gadgets. I make this because it doesn’t fail on me (much). Makes a nice heavy bread and my kitchen smells great. The recipe that came with the manual was a culinary nightmare with the top never cooking right. This recipe I found on line is so much better. Make it at night. Then in the morning the bread is still warm... Katatonickat
