Butter sides & bottom of 4 cup casserole dish

Warm buttermilk in saucepan over medium heat. Stir in corn meal Cook while stirring until thick & smooth. About 3 minutes. Stir in butter & salt ; remove from heat. Let cool.

Will egg yolks into cornmeal mixture

Add green onions & cheddar cheese. Stir well

Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Add to cornmeal mixture a little at a time. Folding gently to avoid flattening mixture scrape mixture into pan & bake 25 - 30 minutes until puffed , golden brown & set. Serve immediately.
