Brown sausage in a large sauce pan

after sausage is done. scoop out and set aside leaving the drippings. this makes it easier to have a lump free base for the gravy.

add the butter, milk to pan then whisk in the flour. over med high heat whisk untill it starts to thicken.

add syrup and the cooked sausage to pan.

heat to boil then reduce to low.

stir frequently to prevent gravy burning for 10-15 minutes or gravy starts to brown slightly
