Puff Pastry with Apple
my first attempt and it got burnt in the tip but the dough tasted very good;
Steps
- 1
Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Roughly break the butter in small chunks, add them to the bowl and rub them in loosely. You need to see bits of butter
- 2
Make a well in the bowl and pour in about two-thirds of the cold water, mixing until you have a firm rough dough adding extra water if needed. Cover with cling film and leave to rest for 20 mins in the fridge.
- 3
Turn out onto a lightly floured board, knead gently and form into a smooth rectangle. Roll the dough out in rectangle shape if possible and cut straight line this should give you at least 8 straight line and set aside
- 4
Heat up a small pot; add apple, butter and sugar stir to caramelized for about a minutes and remove from heat then set aside to cool off
- 5
Place apple on each cut dough and roll till you get the cut shape and place in a cupcake pan
- 6
Once done, use a pastry brush and brush either butter or whisk egg on it and place in a baking tray and bake for about 18 - 20 minutes
- 7
Remove from oven once its done and serve
