Ingredients

  • 1 lbsausage (mild or hot)
  • 1 lbground beef
  • 1 mediumonion, chopped
  • 1 mediumgreen pepper, chopped
  • 1 clovegarlic, minced
  • 128 oz can whole tomatoes including juice, chopped
  • 216 oz cans red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 tbspchili powder
  • 1 tspground cumin
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1/2 tspcayenne pepper
  • 1 cupwater

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook sausage, ground beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic in large soup pot or Dutch oven until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain.

  2. 2

    Stir in tomatoes, beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, cayenne pepper, and water.

  3. 3

    Cover and simmer about 1 hour.
