Amba Khatta(Mango in sweet Gravy)is a seasonal, very popular dish comes out of typical Odia kitchen.It is a delicious,tangy,spicy sweet recipe.Amba Khatta is a side dish served with any kind of meal.
Steps

Cut the mangoes into cube pieces(if you want peel the mangoes's skin,I have not peeled)

Take one cup of water,heat it,add mangoes

Let it boil for five minutes

Drain it (use the water for other proposes)

Heat a pan,add bay leaves,dried chillies, pancha phutone,ginger,curry leaves let them splutter.

Add boiled mangoes, turmeric powder,chilli powder,salt mix well.

Add 3cups of water,sugar or jaggery, cover a lid,cook for five minutes in a medium heat for five minutes.

Add rosted cumin powder, switch off the flame.

Serve with rice,roti idlli etc.
