Ingredients

  1. 1 cupsugar (granulated)
  2. 1 cupvegetable shortening
  3. 1egg
  4. 1 teaspoonvanilla extract
  5. pinchcream of tartar
  6. 2 1/2 cupsflour

Steps

  1. 1

    Beat sugar, shortening and egg together with electric mixer.

  2. 2

    Add vanilla extract, cream of tartar and flour, mix well.

  3. 3

    Roll in to walnut-size balls and then roll the ball in granulated sugar.

  4. 4

    Place on un-greased cookie sheet.

  5. 5

    Bake at 350ºF 10 to 15 minutes.
