I was looking for a way to make my own chocolate at home & control the sugar quantity, I came across a recipe I liked tweaked it & made these melt in the mouth dark chocolate beauty.
You can use ice cube trays, or in the absence of one, folding foil in cupcake tins/tray can suffice.
This chocolate can also be used to frost cakes/cupcakes, & pretty much everything you can use your store bought chocolate for.
PS: Always read through instructions before trying out a new recipe.

Ingredients

20 mini bars
  • 2 cupscocoa powder
  • 170 gbutter
  • 150 mlmilk
  • to tasteSugar
  • 2 tspvanilla (optional)
  • 1 tspsalt (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix cocoa powder & butter till you form a paste.

  2. 2

    Place cocoa butter mixture on a double boiler with a cup of water. In the absence of a double boiler, simply add water to a pot, place on your gas/stove top, & place your cocoa mixture on top of the pot, making sure it doesn't touch the water.

  3. 3

    Stir the mixture while it's on heat, scraping down the sides making sure it doesn't burn. Leave on heat till the mixture is hot but not cooked.

    Take down the mixture, add milk & sugar alternatively, tasting till you're OK with the sugar. Add salt & vanilla, & mix thoroughly.

  5. 5

    Pour mixture into a piping bag and pipe onto ice cube trays or use the foil method which I used, & refrigerate for 2-3hours

    Or use on a cake like I did here & refrigerate.
