Wash and soak the daal overnight

Now boil the daal in a pressure cooker with salt and turmeric powder

Heat oil in a pan add Fenugreek seeds and green chillies

Add onion and garlic saute well

Add ginger paste and saute well till the raw smell disappears

Add all the masalas and tomato and saute adding salt and turmeric

Now pour the boiled daal and mix adding sugar

Garnish it with onion rings and serve with plain chapati or tandoori roti
