Omena is one of those tough to prepare meals to many, I find mine yummy.
Steps

Pick omena to remove dirt and stones if any.

Thoroughly wash with hot water. Sieve them and on a separate bowl squeeze the lemon juice on top to soak into the omena.

Kind of deep/shallow fry the omena into crunchy and golden brown.
- 4
Cut and fry onions into golden brown, add tomatoes and capsicum and stir to form a sauce, add salt then add the omena and stir.
- 5
Add msherekha/vinegar, let it simmer for about 5 minutes then serve hot with ugali.
