stove top: Mix all ingredients in a large soup pan, cook on medium low stirring frequently for about 2 hours .

Crock pot: mix all ingredients in crock pot cook on high for 5 to 6 hours

Don't forget to Peel and dice the potatoes. Also when using crock pot I'd cut ingredients in half.
