Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 1.1 lbsflour (about 500 grams or 4 cups)
  • 2 tablespoonspowdered milk
  • 2 tablespoonsoil
  • 1 tablespoonyeast dissolved in 1/2 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • Pinchsalt
  • For the meat mixture:
  • 2onions, finely chopped
  • 2tomatoes, grated, and 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2bell peppers, finely chopped
  • 1/2 bunchparsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoonsoil
  • 1/2 lbground beef (about 225 grams)

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all the dough ingredients together and knead until smooth. Let the dough rise.

  2. 2

    Combine all the meat mixture ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

  3. 3

    Divide the dough into small balls as desired.

  4. 4

    Shape each ball into a flat round, then spread 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture on top of each.

  5. 5

    Cook in a skillet on the stovetop until the bottom is golden brown, then place under the oven broiler until the top is browned. Serve hot.
