Luchi cholar dal(Bengal gram dal and puri)

A perfect vegetarian dish,and a popular Bengali cuisine to be served as breakfast and often as a starter of a feast.Generally it is called as mishti cholar daal in which cashew raisins are used to give it a sweet taste.

Steps

Knead a soft dough with flour salt sugar oil and water and keep aside

Now heat oil and temper cumin seed,bay leaf, red chilli whole and whole garam masalas
- 3
Now add asafoetida and ginger paste and saute well
- 4
Add salt and turmeric powder and mix

At this point add cumin coriander powder and red chilli Powder and saute till oil separates

Now add cashew raisins and pour the boiled dal

Add sugar and bring it to boil

Remove it from heat and keep aside

Now once again knead the dough a little and make small balls of it

Roll the balls into round shape

Heat oil in a wok add the puris and fry

Serve it with chana dal and sweets of your choice
