Delicious crusty white bread made easy

I love bread but don’t often have the time to make it. Today I made soup so I thought I’d try a quick and easy recipe for bread. I think it turned out ok.

I love bread but don’t often have the time to make it. Today I made soup so I thought I’d try a quick and easy recipe for bread. I think it turned out ok.
Steps
- 1
Pour your flour onto a larger kitchen surface and make a well in the middle. Add the yeast, salt and sugar and mix.
- 2
Make another well and slowly add the water pulling the flour from the outside in trying not to break the well otherwise you end up with water everywhere.
- 3
Keep adding the water until it is all gone and you have clean the surfaces with your dough and have a nice soft ball.
- 4
Knead the dough for 5 minutes until soft then place in a bowl, cover with clingfilm and put in a warm place to prove for 30 minutes.
- 5
Once proved, knock the dough back (basically knead it further for 5 minutes) then put into a greased tin that it’ll be cooked in. Leave in a warm place to rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- 6
Put the dough into the oven for 30 minutes. You’ll know it’s done if you knock it and it sounds hollow on the bottom.
