I used 3 Ray wings in this recipe. Add more five Spice if you want a stronger flavour as with this recipe there was only a hint of spice to it. I also tried frying some cod pieces using the same batter. The tastes are almost identical so if you can't find skate wings use cod fillets.

Ingredients

  • Ray wings
  • 1 tspfive Spice powder
  • 5 tbspplain flour
  • to tasteTable salt
  • 3 tbsprapeseed oil or olive oil
  • Light soy sauce to drizzle

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix the flour, five spice and salt together in a shallow bowl.

  2. 2

    Dry the wings using some kitchen roll.

    Coat it in the flour mixture.

    Heat the oil over medium heat. Then add the fish. Fry for 4-5 minutes per side.

    Transfer to a plate and drizzle with the soy sauce.
